Our own Maggie Bjorklund plays some wild, wicked pedal steel on Jack White's new song "High Ball Stepper," from his upcoming album 'Lazaretto.' Seriously, we didn't even know pedal steel guitars could make sounds like that!

Our doe-eyed, southside chanteuse Nora O'Connor will be hitting the stage with her pals the New Pornographers on some West Coast amphitheater shows.  Also appearing is Death Cab for Cutie.  Check her out in these cities.

Exene Sings On New Dex Romweber Album

Exene recorded a duet with Dex Romweber for the upcoming album The Ruins of Berlin by the Dex Romweber Duo. The album also features duets with Cat Power, Neko Case and some guitar work by Rick Miller of Southern Culture on the Skids. The album is scheduled for a February 10th, 2009 release.

New Pine Valley Cosmo Record On The Way!

Recording will commence November '08 for the new PVC record. For this go 'round, PVC will be backing the considerable talents of the Rockabilly Filly Rosie Flores. If you saw them play together at '08's American Music Festival at Fitzgerald's (expecially that version of the Sex Pistols' "Pretty Vacant" you know we're all in for a treat.
