Deadstring Brothers' song "Oh Me Oh My" will be on ABC's Nashville tonight! Tune in at 10/9c to hear it.
The song is from the band's 2013 Bloodshot album 'Cannery Row.'
Robbie Fulks will be the musical guest on NBC's 'Last Call with Carson Daly' on the night of December 12th! (It's on at 1:30/12:30c, so it's technically the 13th, but you know what we mean, you night owls!) The segment will include an interview and several musical performances.
Hopefully Mr. Daly is quick on his feet that night. We put our money on Robbie gettin' wise with him.
OW OW OW!
Barrence and the Savages are bringing their atomic-powered sock it to me soul to the British airwaves.
Tuesday, Sept 24th they appear on the Later with Jools Holland program (or "programme" as they quaintly write over there). Other acts on the show will be The Pixies, Janelle Monae, Tony Joe White and CHVRCHES.
So, tune into BBC TWO at 10pm and be prepared to have your tea cup UPSET!
"I dare say mumsy, that Barrance chap is a cracking good singer! Now, it's off to the chamber. I'm knackered." At least, that's how we imagine it'll be in households (or "flats") all over the UK.
The former White Stripes frontman has called upon our very own pedal steel playing, Danish singer/songwriter Maggie Bjorklund to join him on his first-ever solo headlining tour. The backing spot has thus far brought her in front of sold-out audiences in Nashville, Chattanooga, and onto the stage of Saturday Night Live. Watch the SNL performance of “Love Interruption” on SNL HERE.
Looky HERE for some photos.
A full listing of tour dates can be found HERE (more to be added soon).
To celebrate the announcement, we are launching a second free MP3 from Maggie’s recently released Bloodshot Records debut, Coming Home . “The Anchor Song” features an all-star cast of guest contributors including vocalist Rachel Flotard, Joey Burns and John Convertino of Calexico, Barrett Martin of Screaming Trees, and others. You can download, re-post, and share the FREE track here
Maggie will be joining Jack White on the road on selected dates throughout the spring and summer promoting his new record Blunderbluss, out in April via Third Man Records. In between she will also be headlining two shows in the Netherlands, supporting Laura Gibson in Belgium, and performing at Bloodshot’s official showcase at Red Eyed Fly on 3/17 during Austin’s SXSW festival.
...well not her, but her music....
Her song "How Many Women" from her wicked debut album Indestructible Machine will be featured on Fox TV's show Alcatraz on Monday, January 16th. 9pm eastern, 8pm central.
They tell us it'll be the "background music in the gun shop." Sounds promising!
So, here's a sentence I'd never thought I'd type: Make sure to tune into Fox TV!
If you're a fan of the FX show Sons of Anarchy, you may have recognized Scott H Biram's "Still Drunk, Still Crazy, Still Blue" playing during a very pivotal scene in last night's episode (there will be another SHB song on SOA in next week's new ep, as well).
It's not the first time a Bloodshot band has been featured on SOA — Check out this Songs of Anarchy playlist we put together over on Spotify, which features songs from Biram, Waco Brothers, Whitey Morgan and The 78s, Justin Townes Earle and Deadstring Brothers that have all appeared on previous episodes of SOA.
