Behold! Barrence Whitfield & The Savages' FIRST-EVER music video! That's right, the band's intergalactic video for new song "Let's Go to Mars" is the first in their nearly 40-year stretch as garage rock titans. Directed by King Salami and the Cumberland 3's Eric Baconstrip, watch it now via PopMatters.

As guitarist Peter Greenberg puts it, "'Let's Go to Mars' was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico when our bassist Phil Lenker visited me to write songs for the new LP... We happened to be watching the Sun Ra documentary A Joyful Noise one evening, and it led us down a certain path..."

(Barrence & the boys played several shows with Sun Ra back in the '80s.)

The Savages' new album Soul Flowers of Titan is out March 2.
