Red Bull Music Interviews Lydia Loveless

Red Bull and Lydia Loveless...seems like a perfect match. Both are young and full of energy, eh? Well, it appears they get along well in this interview on Red Bull Music.

Read it here.

Our favorite part is Lydia's take on current pop music: "I live next to a radio station, and the signal invades my computer speakers -- the speakers just randomly pick up the signal. It's really loud, like I-can-hear-it-from-the-other-room loud. So, all day, I hear this weird 'Lion King' shit. It drives me fucking nuts."

Jon Langford Talks Politics, Honky Tonk, and Roger Knox in VICE

Jon Langford chatted with VICE about almost everything under the sun, including drone warfare, astronomy, his upcoming new album, and his buddy Roger Knox

There are some good tidbits about The Mekons too.

Lydia Loveless Featured on

Slate prominently featured Lydia Loveless in an article titled Young Women, Old Music alongside Angel Olsen and Hurray for the Riff Raff

Read it here.

Slate poses the question "How does adopting anachronistic styles serve an artist in her early 20s, in a day when the life span of now seems ever shorter?"

As for Lydia, it concludes that "the purpose of placing herself in the lineage of everyone from Rosie Flores and Loretta Lynn to Exene Cervenka and perhaps Natalie Maines seems to be to find points of comparison and companionship."

Whether that's true or not, it's quite the company to keep. We know this music will stand the test of time. It's had a pretty good track record thus far. We're still here, after all. And so are you!

For further evidence, Somewhere Else is out now. Get it here.

New Bobby Bare Jr. Album 'Undefeated' Announced by SPIN Along with New Song Stream

Bobby Bare, Jr. returns to the Bloodshot fold to release his first new album in four years, 'Undefeated,' on April 15th! SPIN announced it along with a stream of the opening track "North of Alabama My Mornin'."

Listen here.

This track is just the beginning. We promise this album is an unbridled sonic adventure - a set of raw emotional ups-and-downs strapped to a Molotov cocktail. It's ten songs of reality checks, clever wordplay, and daring arrangements, the aural companion to that buddy who pulls up a bar stool next to yours to help soak away your sorrows.

Pre-order on CD or LP here.

The song is on Langord & co.'s upcoming album Here Be Monsters, out April 1st. Pre-order here.

AND the song is on a Bloodshot 7" (the..."Drone Operator 7") that is still available here.
