Soundtrack your Wednesday afternoon with Ha Ha Tonka's fabulous World Cafe session on NPR!
Stream it here!
The band plays stand-out tracks from their newest Bloodshot album 'Lessons' and participates in an interview with David Dye, in which they cover the main muse for the album (a Maurice Sendak interview on NPR's Fresh Air, coincidentally), Ozark culture, and scrapped album titles.

Luke Winslow-King and his band made a stop to perform for our friends at KEXP in Seattle. The entire twenty-minute session is archived for your viewing and listening pleasure on YouTube. Watch below:
From their 2013 Bloodshot album 'Dig Thy Savage Soul.'
Back in November those legendary Boston garage barons stopped by our humble abode to grace us with their formidable presence and play us a couple songs. What resulted was one of the most memorable work days we've ever had here. Barrence (for reasons unknown) decided to don an Abe Lincoln top hat found in Radio Man Swank's quarters, then picked up a century-old medical book from Bloodshot Rob's office, and treated his performance (through a harmonica microphone) as a 19th century plea for mercy (or a really twisted State of the Union address). Meanwhile, the Savages absolutely shred it up and had us thinking the walls were caving in.
Not seen in the video: Lydia Loveless and her band rehearsing in the basement while all of this is going on in the front room. Needless to say, we didn't get much real "work" done that day.
On September 8th, renowned taco palace Big Star (1531 N. Damen) are launching a festival called the Dust Up.
Several bands, including our own Andre Williams & the Goldstars, will be playing, AND there will be a record fair and DJs with us and some other local labels providing the goods.
C'mon by. The fun starts at noon with the DJs, then music at 4pm.

HA HA TONKA played the much vaunted ACL festival in Austin TX last weekend and by all the accounts we've heard (we weren't allowed to go, our cruel overlord bosses allow no such things) they knocked it out of the proverbial park
HERE'S a link to Rolling Stone's "Best Moments" from the festival photos
HERE'S a great article/interview from the AustinPost called "The ACL Band Stuck In My Head" and it tells how HHT brought on the rain to the drought-stricken area (who knew?) as well as couple of their videos.
Overheard several times were people saying "Did you hear that HHT made it rain?"
Heed their powers...
Here's a video medley of their set (pardon the crappy audio) that gives you sense of the day..
