Random Wax: Nina Stiener - Willie Nelson 'Willie & Family Live'

April 1st, 2016 by bsradmin

We like to listen to vinyl on Fridays here at BSHQ. Every Friday we have a Bloodshot crew member randomly select a record from his/her personal collection and bring it to the office. The person has to explain why the album is on his/her shelves, and then we listen to it. We call this Random Wax

Today's contestant is star Bloodshot intern Nina Stiener! She randomly selected Willy & Family Live (double LP!) by Willie Nelson, from 1978. Here's her explanation on why it's in her collection:

"Growing up on the east coast, country music was rarely played and most of my friend's knowledge of country music began and ended with T-Swift. Luckily, my dad made sure I learned and loved the greats. This album is in my collection because its a great compilation of all the best Willie has to offer. There's an amazing version of "Good Hearted Woman," one of my favorite country songs of all time, and an equally great 14-minute-long medley of "Red Headed Stranger." Plus, the harmonica solos are rockin. What's not to love?"
