We like to listen to vinyl on Fridays here at BSHQ. Every Friday we have a Bloodshot crew member randomly select a record from his/her personal collection and bring it to the office. The person has to explain why the album is on his/her shelves, and then we listen to it. We call this Random Wax.
Today's contestant is longest-running Bloodshot intern Jenna Doxrude! She "randomly" selected A Rush of Blood to the Head by Coldplay, from 2002. Here's her explanation on why it's in her collection:
"It's actually quite funny (seeing as I intern for a record label that releases vinyl) that aside from Bloodshot albums, this is the only record I own. However, that's not to say that it doesn't mean something to me. I bought this album one night with every intention of building a vinyl collection in the future, and I'm still working on getting to that over a year later! I picked it out of the stack because Coldplay's first few albums have always been comforting to me since my mom played them everyday before I went to school. I've loved them ever since ,and although I love many other artists, they've managed to stick around in my top 3."
