Newest Bloodshot signees and legendary Boston garage-punk-soul warriors Barrence Whitfield and the Savages are heading out on a US and European tour in support of their first American release in over 20 years, Dig Thy Savage Soul. Since the '80s these guys have been known for the bombastic, rambunctious, mayhem they bring to the stage. Serious uninhibited rock 'n roll abandon. Whitfield is a performer so consumed with satisfying his audiences that he has been called ‘crazed, frenetic and completely unhinged.'
CASE IN POINT:
To commemorate this unconstrained chaos returning to stages around the world, we want to get your respective brains running through the rock 'n roll wringer. Sit back, close your eyes, and drive your mental Delorean back to all the blaring, blazing, blown out shows that left your ears and eyes bloodied and bruised and your musical heart forever branded. No matter what artist, genre, place, time, whatever, etc., we want to hear about it.
Write us a 250-word or less account of the most raucous show you've ever attended. We'll pick our favorites (and so will Barrence Whitfield and the Savages themselves!) and award the winners with signed Dig Thy Savage Soul vinyl and gift certificates to the Bloodshot online store. We'll even post some of our favorites to Facebook to have the public vote for their favorite live epic.
We don't care if your story is Hüsker Dü, Motley Crüe, or Erykah Badu, but extra credit goes to stories about Barrence Whitfield and the Savages, of course.
Submit your stories to email@example.com. Limit one entry per participant.
Deadline is Friday September 20th.
