Mile High / Blind (7" Single)

The lime green 7" vinyl copies sold out in a flash, so it's now available digitally on iTunes and Amazon.

For 2014  Record Store Day, we put out this LIMITED EDITION lime green vinyl* slab o wax featuring two never-before-released Lydia Loveless songs.

Side A is "Mile High" a non album track of Lydia's own concoction.

Side B is a Ke$ha song that LL loves. We didn't even recognize it at first – just figured it was another killer Lydia cut.

Side A is "Mile High" a non album track of Lydia's own concoction.

Side B is a Ke$ha song that LL loves. We didn't even recognize it at first – just figured it was another killer Lydia cut.

* why lime green?  Lydia tells us that it's Ke$ha's favorite color.  We'll have to take her word on that.

Lydia elaborated on her cover song choice of "Blind" in SPIN magazine: "I chose this song because it resonated with me personally, but also because I could hear a really simple pop song beneath all the overproduced bullshit. I love Kesha because she seems like a really rad chick and great songwriter that maybe got pushed around by too many old white men. "

Short Description
  • The Loveless version is far far stronger as a country tune, and definitely speaks more to the driving around town in the summer, searching for something to sing to on the radio vibe that the lyrics lend themselves to.

    — Gaper's Block
  • Loveless reimagines ["Blind"] with the kind of heartbroken confidence the song requires. The lonely pain shines brightest when the chorus - "You must be blind if you can't see / you'll miss me 'till the day you die / without me, you're nothing"- is stripped of Autotune warbles and sung with assuredness.
