Cory Branan jump starts 2013 on the road with Gaslight Anthem, Bouncing Souls, and Jon Snodgrass

Cory Branan is hitting the road again in early 2013, a one-off with Glossary, and consecutive stretches of dates with Jon Snodgrass in February and Gaslight Anthem and Bouncing Souls in March.

In 2012, Branan was a busy man. In May, he released his Bloodshot debut album MUTT and toured both by himself across the U.S. and with Chuck Ragan’s Revival Tour across the U.S. and Europe (alongside Laura Jane Grace of Against Me!, Dan Andriano of Alkaline Trio, Jay Malinowski of Bedouin Soundclash, and many others). You can read Cory’s humorous recap of the European Revival Tour, complete with candid photos, over on Blogshot.

Murder by Death announces 2013 tour with MAN MAN

MURDER BY DEATH ANNOUNCE
CO-HEADLINE TOUR WITH MAN MAN

Murder By Death have announced they will be joining up with Man Man for a co-headline tour starting February 7, 2013 at the Black Cat in Washington, D.C. The tour is set to hit parts of the East Coast, then proceed across the Gulf Coast, and head north through the Midwest and Upper East Coast, until it concludes on March 2 at Union Transfer in Man Man’s native Philadelphia, PA.

See full tour dates HERE!

Get their latest album Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon on CD, LP, digital and, we've got just a few left, the DELUXE edition LP

“This rollicking clash between light and dark gives the album a kind of macabre tent-revival feeling…This level of immersion alone make Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon worth the time it takes to give it a listen, and the fact that the album is filled with killer songs to slam bourbon to is really just icing on the (probably arsenic-laced) cake.”

End of Lydia Loveless Tour Cancelled

Lydia Loveless had to cancel the rest of her tour.  (insert frowny emoticon here).

She has been sick since Thanksgiving and last night in Northampton MA she lost her voice.   The band debated taking off a day or two and keeping the weekend dates but it doesn't sound like she is getting better anytime soon.  She just hit the wall cuz, well, dang, she's been on the road the better part of the year.

Not the way they wanted to end the year but we think we can say they gave it all they had.

Cancelled dates:

12-05 The Fire  Philadelphia PA

12-06 DC9  Washington, DC
12-07 Hampton Taphouse  Hampton, VA
12-08 The Abbey Bar  Harrisburg, VA

2013 will see a fresh and rested Lydia and we hope to get her back to those cities as soon as we can.  Sorry about that.

NORA O'CONNOR on the road with KELLY HOGAN

So I'm at the Hideout the other night, doling out soup for a fundraiser thrown by the good folks at Soup & Bread, and Nora O'Connor stops by.  She offhandedly remarks that she'll be playing bass on Kelly Hogan's upcoming tour in addition to singing her sweet backing vocals.

"JESUS CHRIST" I yelled, "THIS is the kind of thing you need to tell us in advance!"

So, there you have it.  Go catch two of the finest voices on the planet together on the same stage.

Furthermore, both of them have albums on sale during our YEAR END BLOWOUT sale!

FIREWATER tour Postponed!

Alas, we regret to inform all our friends and Firewater fans in Europe that the much anticipated tour in support of their new album International Orange has been postponed.

After a fabulous homecoming concert in Instanbul, following the first Firewater US tour in four years----and dang it was fun, Tod slipped on a cobblestone and broke his kneecap. Not a very rocknroll injury, but there you have it.

They are putting a pin in his knee, which has to be immobilized for several weeks in order to heal properly.  He is EXTREMELY disappointed about this.  We are working on substitute dates for February and March.  We'll keep you posted as they are confirmed.

Tickets are on-sale Friday, September 14th at most venues.

Graham Parker and The Rumour--guitarists Brinsley Schwarz and Martin Belmont, keyboardist Bob Andrews, drummer Steve Goulding and bassist Andrew Bodnar--were known as some of the most explosive live performers of their era, releasing a number of live records including a concert version of their critically acclaimed album, Squeezing Out Sparks.

"After doing 'Three Chords Good' I can safely say no band on earth has what the Rumour have," says Parker of the reunion. "Let's burn up some stages."
