Work in the Loop?

Well, head on down to the Christmas Market in Daley Plaza this holiday season and stop by booth #47.  It's run by our friends over at Lake Claremont Press, who specialize in books on Chicago's history and characters.  They're also carrying some Chicago-Centric Bloodshot titles.  All can be had for quite cheap.

So, when you're out sneaking a smoke or running to get a bagel, or going to the Daley Center to pay off that stack of parking tickets issued by the new fascist parking meter goons,  stop by the LCP booth on Dearborn.  Hours are 11-8 (until 9 on Fri & Sat) and the Market runs until December 24th.

Due to circumstances beyond our control or our comprehension, we will not be able to sell SPLIT LIP RAYFIELD CDs much longer.  Thus, get 'em while the getting is good!

$5 each, no limit while supplies last.

We have more of some than others, so if you've been itchin' to get hip to the Lip, now is the time.

Mind you, these are all the original releases, in their original packaging, from the original source materials.  Beware of some not-so-good bootlegs.

• The Deadstring Brothers are returning in 2009 -- and have JUST ANNOUNCED new US summer tour dates in support of their upcoming long player, São Paulo. The album's not out for a minute, but we can't wait for you to hear it cos it's hot. And, I mean, SMOKING HOT. Just check out that artwork, folks.

• Word's out! Justin Townes Earle's show in McCabe's in LA this weekend sold out! Check out an interview he did with the LA-based blog, When You Awake, here. Nope, not pizza with a bacon topping -- a pizza where bacon has REPLACED THE CRUST. The sample had my arteries hardening with just a whiff, but it's tasty! Atkin's friendly, too!
