Though unable to resist cashing in on the holiday bandwagon, the Spankers decided to look beyond the usual holiday fare when choosing songs for this record. The search resulted in an album that careens from obscure jazz and blues tunes to songs from animated classics. There are a few standards arranged in the usual anything-goes Spanker fashion, and an unironic decrying of commercialism from lead singer Wammo on what is, after all, his birthday too. The triumphant result could only come from the Spankers. Enjoy a holiday album so fearless in its variety and execution you might even find yourself enjoying it in January.
